Contacts for UMD Students: UMD Career Services is interested in having a list of professional contacts on hand in the case that a student is interested in an informational interview with a professional in their chosen field. The 'list' will not be handed out to students. If Career Services thinks a student will benefit from a personal contact, then an individual name would be offered to the student. You would be contacted very rarely, but this would be a nice service for AWIS women to offer with very little effort. If you would be interested in providing your contact information (name, field, position, phone or email) to UMD Career Services for this purpose, please email Stacey Stark (slstark@d.umn.edu).

Professional Journals wanted: My neighbor and friend teaches life science courses at the Marshall School. She is looking for copies of professional journals related to life sciences for her classroom library. Each semester she asks her students to do a research project, and she encourages the students to use books and journals rather than just the Internet. The more journals she has on hand, the easier it is to convince the students to use them. If you have any journals you would be willing to donate for this purpose, please let me know. -- Nancy Nelson

Science equipment needed: A science teacher trained in Duluth is now teaching life science at a small school that has no equipment. If you know of equipment that could be donated to help her out, please contact Jane Wattrus.
