Gifts for Safe Haven Women's Shelter, 2006:

To make sure that the women and children at the Safe Haven Women's shelter in Duluth had as happy a holiday as possible given the circumstances, AWIS and the Association of Women in Medicine collected donations and gifts for the shelter. In mid-December we delivered specialty soaps, dish cloths, scarves, and jewelry, among other items, along with over $600 in cash to be used in creating gift baskets for all of the women. Shelter staff and residents were very grateful to be remembered at this time of year. A big "thank-you" to all who participated in this effort.
